The normalize function accepts the following TIFF Input Files:

  • 8-bit TIFF files (composite as well) created in Adobe Photoshop software, including files in grayscale, RGB, and CMYK color spaces
  • 1-bit TIFF files (bitmaps)
  • TIFF files with spot channels
  • L*a*b* with indexed color spaces
  • whole image and tile formatting

The TIFF format is a general format and Normalize should support most 1-bit and 8-bit TIFF files from third-party workflows and software as input. However, a variety of different formatting can be applied to TIFFs, such as formatting as "Whole Image", "Stripped" or "Tiled" , with different pixel sizes of strips and tiles. Also, different types of compression can be applied to TIFF files. So while TIFF files from a variety of applications and workflows can potentially be added as input to Prinergy and successfully refined, it's possible certain combinations of formatting and compression will not be supported. VPS+ Packaging Mode has the ability to reformat TIFFs using Hot Folders, and it's possible that if certain TIFF files will not Refine, they could be reformatted in VPS+ to something that will Refine successfully. (For instance, reformatting from "Whole Image" to "Stripped".)
