Create a Prinergy Workflow job that will act as a container for a hot folder to receive XML files from the MIS. You must create a hot folder within this job and activate the PLA MIS Automation rule for the hot folder within the job context of the hot folder job. The hot folder will trigger an RBA rule to process the XML data in the PLA software to create the layouts.

  1. Create a new job or pre-job in Prinergy Workflow, and type a name —for example, PLA MIS Hot Folder Job.
Tip: Create this job as a pre-job to make it less visible to operators and lessen the chance of the template job being accidentally modified or erased. The RBA Create Job action relies on the template job and if it is deleted, the Create Job action fails. This job can also act as a repository of .xml job tickets created by the PLA software. It needs to be preserved to prevent the loss of these tickets as templates.
  2. In the Prinergy Workflow job or pre-job, open RBA Rule Set Manager, and enable the RBA rule that you configured when you set up RBA for creating layouts from MIS data.
  3. In Manage Hot Folders, create a hot folder within this job. Perform the following actions:
    1. Set the hot folder to Add and Process Files.
    2. In the Rule Set Library pane, in the PLA System Rule Sets list, select the PLA MIS Automation rule set.
Note: The hot folder is named PLA MIS Automation by default. You can change this name.

Or, you can create an external folder on another share to be used as a hot folder, and associate the rule with the external folder. This external folder must be on a share visible to both Prinergy Workflow and the MIS system. If you created an external hot folder in the Create Hot Folder for Job dialog box, expand Options, and select the Use Custom Location check box. For more information about creating hot folders, see the Prinergy Workflow Workshop User Guide.
