A job info sheet specifies the job requirements. You can design or customize a job info sheet to meet a customer’s specific needs or to provide specific directions to your operators.

Prepress Portal users can view a customized job info sheet, add it to a job, and edit the values in it, depending on their user rights. Job info sheets can be added to jobs in any production workflow system.

Note: For information about user rights, see the Prepress Portal Help.

Sample job info sheets

Prepress Portal has sample job info sheets that you can use, modify, or replace, depending on your business needs. The sample job info sheets are available in two formats: a format that is compliant with Job Definition Format (JDF) and a format that uses a customized XML schema. Since the PLA software connects to RBA, you must use the XML-based examples.

The files to customize are located on the Prepress Portal server at PrinergyWebRoot\RUser\custom\JobInfoSheet\Examples. The Examples folder contains the following subfolders:

  • Default—Contains files for XML job info sheets. If you do not customize any job info sheets, the Prepress Portal system uses these files as the default view.
  • DefaultSimple—Contains sample files for a simple XML job info sheet that allows users to choose cover stock and process colors.
  • DefaultWithTabs—Contains sample files for an XML job info sheet with a layout organized into three separate tabs.
  • JDF Example, JDF2, and JDF3—Contain sample files for JDFcompliant job info sheets. Do not customize these sample files. These JDF files are not relevant for PLA.
