Hot folders can be configured to automatically pause items in the Controller Viewer Queue, allowing you to view and edit the separations before the proof is processed for the proofer.

You can perform any of the following actions:

  • Map a separation to another separation.
  • Edit the default handling of spot color separations for which the color name is missing from the proof’s designated color library. In Approval jobs, the default setting is Convert to Process. In inkjet jobs, the default setting is Leave as is.
  • Override the proof’s designated color library for a separation and select a different color library for only that separation.
  • (Matchprint inkjet only) Designate a different default color library for all separations in the proof.
  • (Approval only) Exclude a separation from printing.
  • (Screened input only) Edit the Screening Settings for all or selected separations in the job; optionally update the hot folder settings accordingly.

For regular proofing jobs, this feature is enabled via the Selective Map to Process option on the Spot Colors tab of the hot folder’s Process Settings.

Note: Settings specified in the Edit Separations dialog box apply only to page content. The settings do not apply to color bars and other page marks.
