Install or upgrade the driver software before connecting the device to the workstation, and then ensure the device firmware is up to date— particularly important for Mx devices.
Note: If you plan to run a spectrophotometer through a serial cable connected to a Mac OS client workstation, you will also need a Keyspan serial-to-USB cable adaptor. See the proofer specifications for the latest supported model.
- Insert the disc that is provided with the device, and follow the on- screen instructions. If a Windows prompt appears, confirm the installation.
- Connect the device to the workstation.
- Ensure that the latest available driver software is installed for the device model and the version of the operating system software. Either go to the manufacturer’s support Web site or allow Windows to find the latest driver software. If applicable, download and install according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
