If you do not receive the test email notification using any of the methods previously described, or if you get an error message, use the following suggestions to troubleshoot:

  • In the Mail Server Editor dialog box, ensure you have entered the correct information in all the boxes.
  • In the Mail Server Editor dialog box, in the User Name and User Password boxes, enter the user name and password that you use to log on to your email account on the local mail server. Resend the test email notification.
  • The test email address that you used may no longer be active. Enter another test email address.
  • There may be no network connection between the Proofer Controller and your local mail server. Check your network connection and resend the test email notification.
  • Check your inbox's Junk Mail folder for the test email notification. To prevent the email notification from being filtered into the Junk Mail folder, add the From email address to your safe contacts list.
