Screened input files with white separations require specific hot folder settings to process the white separation.

Requirements:

  • A Matchprint Inkjet proofer with white ink, such as an Epson Stylus Pro WT7900 printer
  • A media configuration with white ink enabled
  • A proofer profile for the media configuration
  • A simulation DeviceLink or a pair of ICC profiles
  • A color library that contains a name and recipe for all white separations in the input files that you want to print with white ink

A special hot folder setup is needed to process screened (halftone) input files that include white separations. With this hot folder, the white separation is processed as a spot color, and the software resamples the screens in the input files to the resolution specified in the media configuration that is selected for the hot folder.

  1. In Proofer Viewer, select ConfigureHot Folders.
  2. Click New.
  3. Perform the following actions:

    1. Select Hot Folder.
    2. In the Media Configuration list, select a media configuration with white ink enabled.
    3. In the Halftone Handling list, select Screened input files, Descreen to produce contone proofs or Screened input files, Resample to produce halftone proofs.

For the Screened input files, Resample option, you must select a media configuration with a resolution of 1440 × 1440 dpi.
