Color changes as ink dries. This affect slows after a certain time, based on the media, ink, temperature, and humidity. The default calibration drying times are intended to optimize the trade-off between color accuracy and ink drying time. If you reduce the ink drying time for a calibration, the accuracy of the calibration and subsequent proofs may decrease, especially after the ink dries on the proof.

To edit the length of time that the proofer waits for the Precision Color calibration to dry before measuring the chart with an inline spectrophotometer:

  1. In Proofer Viewer, from the Configure menu, select Media Configuration.
  2. Select a media configuration, and click Edit.
  3. Click the Calibration tab.
  4. In the Inline spectro calibration chart (minutes) box, specify a new value.

  5. Click Save.
