Double-Sided

Creates double-sided proofs. You can create double-sided proofs only on sheet media.

Oversize Proofs: Drop Marks First

Specifies whether to eliminate the label, color bar, and caption before cropping the image to make the proof fit in the imageable area on the sheet.

Note: By default, an image is cropped equally on all four sides. However, for grid layouts, you can use the Image Position settings to control how the software crops the image. For example, if you select the Top Left position for the image, the software leaves the top-left sides of the image and crops the bottom-right sides of the image.

If you selected Reduce to Fit Media on the Hot Folders Output Settings tab (open connectivity) or a similar setting in a workflow process template (direct connectivity), then the image would already be reduced and the image and marks would fit on the sheet.

Oversize Proofs: Crop Image First

Specifies whether to crop the image to make the proof fit in the imageable area on the sheet.

By default, an image is cropped equally on all fours sides. If you select to have a caption, the image is cropped even more to allow space for the caption.

Note: For grid layouts, you can use the Image Position settings to control how the software crops the image. For example, if you select the Top Left position for the image, the software leaves the top-left sides of the image and crops the bottom-right sides of the image if necessary.

If you selected Reduce to Fit Media in the Hot Folders Output Settings tab (open connectivity) or a similar setting in a workflow process template (direct connectivity), then the image would already be reduced and would fit on the page.

Oversize Proofs: Fail on Download

Specifies whether to fail the proof before it is processed rather than drop marks or crop the image to make the image fit in the imageable area on the sheet.

If you selected Reduce to Fit Media in the Hot Folders Output Settings tab, then the image would already be reduced to fit in the imageable area.

When you select the Certified Process for Color Confirmation check box, the Fail on Download option is automatically selected, and you cannot change it.

Fail if DFE settings are missing

Specifies whether to fail the proof if there are no work style settings from Prinergy. This setting does not use the X and Y coordinate information.

Replace DFE settings with below

Specifies whether to ignore the workflow system work style settings from Prinergy and use the Work StyleX Offset, and Y Offset settings in this dialog box.

Use settings below, if not provided

Specifies the Work StyleX, and Y offsets that are used when the workflow system does not provide any of these settings. However, when the workflow system provides some of the needed settings, Kodak Proofing Software uses the settings specified by the workflow system, not the settings provided in the Kodak Proofing Software layout.

Work Style

Specifies how to back up the images for the double-sided proofs. Ensure that the imposition style used for the input files is appropriate for the selected work style. Select from:

  • Work and Turn—Creates proofs that use the same plate for both the front and back side of a press sheet. The result is two sets of identical images.
  • Work and Tumble—Creates proofs that use the same plate for both the front and back side of a press sheet. The image on the back is rotated 180 degrees.
  • Sheetwise—Creates proofs that have one image on the front side and another image on the back side. The two images are printed back to back without rotation.
  • Perfector—Creates proofs that have one image on the front side and another image on the back side. The image on the back is rotated 180 degrees.

X Offset

Shifts the image along the leading edge of the paper (x axis) by the number that you specify.

Y Offset

Shifts the image along the length of the paper (y axis) by the number that you specify.
