Use the Customize Spot Colors dialog box to customize the tint settings for individual spot colors in the library.

Library
Displays the name of the library for which you are customizing spot colors.
Simulate
Displays the type of simulation selected for the color library.
Proofer Profile
Displays the name of the proofer profile selected for the color library.
Customize Spot Colors area
Search and Find Next
Enables you to
search for spot color names in the library. Type all or part of the spot color name in the Search box, and click Find Next. The closest match is highlighted in the list below. When no match is found, no spot color names are highlighted.
Note: A check mark appears beside the names of customized spot colors. You can also click the Summary button to view a list of customized spot tint colors for the library.
Minimum Dot on Plate
Displays the default setting for the spot tint library when used.
Minimum Dot Printed on Press
Displays the default setting for the spot tint library when used.
Calculated spot tint color area
Calculated spot tint color
Lets the software use several values to calculate the spot tint for the selected color. Use this option when you lack target values in L*a*b* color space.
Contrast Index
Displays the default setting for the spot tint library when used.
Dot Gain at 50%
Specifies a percentage from 0 to 40 that indicates the measured dot gain on press. Decimals are not allowed. Zero indicates no dot gain (also called linear). For example, when a 50% dot in the input file measures 68% on press, you would type 18% in the Dot Gain at 50% box (68 - 50 = 18).
Target spot tint color area
Target spot tint color
Reproduces the spot tint color based on target values that you provide. For the best results, print a tint scale on the target device, measure the tints with a spectrophotometer, and add the spectrophotometer measurements of the tints. The software uses the values to simulate the spot tint colors printed on the target device. Use the Add button to define a spot tint and its L*a*b* values. Use the Remove button to delete a spot tint definition. Click an existing spot tint definition, and click Edit to modify the values.
Buttons
Restore Defaults
Removes the customized settings from a selected customized spot color. Spot colors without customized settings use the settings specified for the library.
Summary
Displays a summary of the settings for the color library and any spot colors that you customized for the library.
