The process of imaging on media can slightly change the size of the color key by a millimeter or so. You may want to eliminate the distortion to ensure that the color key is exactly the expected size. You can then lay the precise color key on the flexo plate that is mounted on press to ensure that the flexo plate is not distorted.

  1. Print a set of color keys.
  2. Measure the size of the image on one of the color keys to ensure that the size is accurate.
  3. When the image is the wrong size, calculate the percentage that you need to scale the color keys.
To calculate the percentage, take the expected image size and divide it by the measured size, and then multiply the result by 100 percent. The result is the percentage by which you need to scale the image.
  4. Edit the hot folder.
  5. Click the Output Settings tab.
  6. In the Scaling list, select Percentage scale, and in the X or Y box, type the percentage.
Note: The X direction is horizontal, and the Y direction is vertical. When you select Rotate image 90 degrees, the image is rotated, and then scaled.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Print the set of color keys again.
