Custom profiles created in ColorFlow software can be used in Kodak Proofing Software with the Open Connectivity Kit or via direct connectivity with Prinergy Workflow software.

ICC device or DeviceLink profiles created in ColorFlow (or other software) can be imported into Proofer Administrator and signed for the Certified Process for Color Confirmation.

Export signed profiles for use in your workflow software. Exported profiles also can be imported into ColorFlow software for use with color setups.

The ColorFlow proofing edition software (also known as ColorFlow for KPS) may be installed alongside Kodak Proofing Software and includes only the relevant features for proofing. A full workflow edition of the ColorFlow software is available for use with Prinergy workflow software.

After you create the custom profile, import the custom profile into Proofer Administrator to make it available for selection in Kodak Proofing Software.

  1. Follow the procedures in the Kodak ColorFlow Software Implementation Guide.
  2. Import the custom profile into Proofer Administrator.
  3. If you are using the Certified Process for Color Confirmation, use Proofer Administrator to sign the custom profile.

Troubleshooting

Symptom: If you upgrade Prinergy from version 5.1 to a later version, output from ColorFlow and KPS Certified Process for Color Confirmation (CPCC) fails with this error message: A signed ICC profile called printer.icc was not found on the Proofer Controller

This problem affects:

  • All versions of Kodak Proofing Software (KPS)
  • Prinergy versions 5.2 and later
  • ColorFlow software versions 1.2.6.2.65 and later

Cause: This problem happens because in Prinergy 5.2 and later, the ColorFlow PCO (source/simulation) ICC profile must be signed for use with the CPCC process in KPS Proofer Administrator.

Resolution: Use this procedure to resolve the problem:

  1. From ColorFlow software, export the PCO profile.
  2. In the KPS Proofer Administrator, import the PCO profile and sign the profile for use with the CPCC process.
  3. From the KPS Proofer Administrator, export the profile.
  4. In ColorFlow software, import the signed profile by redefining the PCO profile.
  5. If you are using the Approved snapshot in your Prinergy output Process Templates, you will need to capture a snapshot and make it the Approved snapshot.
