Use the Measurement wizard to measure the color bar, compare the measurements to the tolerances defined for the color bar, and determine if the color meets the standards required by Certified Process for Color Confirmation.

The Measurement wizard indicates in the Results area when a compensation algorithm was used. For example, if you set up the color bar to use the black-backing compensation algorithm, the Results area indicates that the algorithm was used. The report for the Certified Process for Color Confirmation also indicates when a compensation algorithm was used.

For the best measurement results with the X-Rite DTP70, center the chart in the spectrophotometer.

Note: If you are using a proofer with an inline spectrophotometer, the proofer software measures the color bars automatically.

  1. In Proofer Viewer, from the Measure menu, select Color Confirmation.
  2. Follow the instructions in the Measurement wizard to measure a color bar.
In the description file for the color bar, you define the minimum amount of time for the Measurement wizard to wait before measuring the color bar.
Note: You can later change the wait time
  3. Retrieve the Color Confirmation label from the label printer.
Note: Epson Stylus Pro 4900, 7900, WT7900, 7890, 9890 and 9900 printers with inline spectrophotometers can automatically print label content on the proof. With these printers, you do not need to use the label printer to print labels. Use the layout to specify whether you want the Epson Stylus Pro printer or the label printer to print labels.
  4. Match the identification number on the label to the identification number on the proof, and adhere the label.
