Layouts define how to place proofs on a sheet. Layouts also identify whether to print color bars and captions, and whether to use the Certified Process for Color Confirmation.

Layouts specify whether you are using roll or sheet media. With roll media, you can use scatter, grid, or tiled layouts. For sheet media, you can use scatter, grid, tiled, or double-sided layouts. For you to use double-sided layouts, the proofer must support double-sided printing.

Layouts identify whether you want to use the Certified Process for Color Confirmation. When you turn on the Certified Process for Color Confirmation, you also select a spectrophotometer, color bar, and caption settings. If the Certified Process for Color Confirmation is turned off, you can print a proof with a color bar . However, if you turn on the Certified Process for Color Confirmation, you must print a color bar.

Layouts also identify which information to include in the caption.

Use the Layout Manager to create and edit layouts.
