Requirements

  • Ensure you know which components you need for this color bar, including spectrophotometer and measurement condition, artwork type, and how the L*a*b* target values are to be populated.
  • For Epson WT7900 white ink printers, the desired white flood recipe must be available in a color library—for instructions on creating a user library for white ink, see the applicable Color Database Editor topic.
  • If creating a user-defined color bar, you need the artwork description, including the number of patches, rows, and columns and the patch, color bar, and gap dimensions.
  • For profile-based color bars, the desired Kodak or custom (imported) ICC profile must be  available and enabled in Proofer Administrator. If the color bar will  be used for the Certified Process for Color Control, the profile must also be signed.
  1. In Proofer Administrator, click the Proofer icon, and click the Color Bars tab.
  2. To access the New Color Bar dialog box, click New.
  3. In the Name box, type a name for the color bar.
  4. In the Spectrophotometer list, select the device and measurement condition combination to be used for measuring the color bar.
    For example, i1Pro2 M2.
  5. Select the desired Artwork option.
  6. Click Next.
  7. On the Patches tab, set options as needed.
    • For user-defined color bars, specify the number of patches, rows, and columns in your artwork.
    • If you plan to add a logo to the default or user defined artwork PDF file in software such as Adobe Illustrator, set the Image Size to include a margin for the logo, and also specify the First Patch Location.
  8. On the Color Targets tab, perform the following actions:
    1. Select the desired Characterization Standard—either a standard data set, an ICC profile, or default settings.
For spectrophotometers with a UV filter, only ICC profiles may be available in the Characterization Standard list.
    2. Click the Triangle icon to expose more settings.
    3. Define tolerances in the Global Settings, Special Tolerances, and Delta Hue Groups areas.
    4. In the L*a*b* Target Values area, perform the desired action:
