For the Certified Process for Color Confirmation, Epson Stylus Pro 7700, 9700, 7900, and 9900 printers usually use media configurations with a Print Direction setting of Uni-directional. However, you can use a media configuration with a Print Direction setting of Bi-directional when the resolution of the media configuration is as follows:
- 720 x 720 or higher for Epson Stylus Pro x700 printers
- 1440 x 720 or higher for Epson Stylus Pro x900 printers
You must enable the Bi-directional setting when you use Kodak Proofing Software to create a custom media configuration with the required resolution. When the resolution is lower, you are limited to using the Uni-directional setting to avoid color shifts that may interfere with the success of the Certified Process for Color Confirmation.
You can also use the Media Configuration Editor dialog box to change the Print Direction setting. However, you cannot change the Print Direction setting for some resolutions.
