Creating characterization data for a new DeviceLink

Specific characterization data is required to create DeviceLink profiles in Kodak Proofing Software.

Use this procedure to obtain measurements of an IT8 7/3, IT8.7/4 or ECI 2002 chart printed on the device that the DeviceLink should simulate.

1. Go to the X-Rite Web site (http://www.xrite.com/), and download a free copy of the ColorPort Utility software.
2. Use the ColorPort Utility software to generate the chart.
3. Print the chart on the device that you want to characterize, such as a press or a proofer.
4. Use the ColorPort Utility and the desired spectrophotometer type to measure the chart.
5. Save the measurement file in CGATS5 file format.
