Creating and using a data backup file

Backup operation

Use this procedure to create a data backup file that includes the following information:

• Proofer settings
• Controller settings
• Hot folders and virtual printers, including settings and associated resources
• Color bars
• ICC profiles
• Media configurations
• Reports

1. In Proofer Administrator, click the Controller icon and then select the Backup tab.
2. Click Backup.
   The backup.zip file is created. 

Restore operation

Use this procedure to restore a selected backup file.

1. In Proofer Administrator, click the Controller icon and then select the Backup tab.
2. Click Restore.
3. When a message advises that all current data will be replaced, click OK to confirm.
4. Locate and select the backup.zip file.
5. Click Open and wait while the data is restored.
6. When a message indicates successful completion, click OK.
7. Wait until an audible notification indicates that the Controller software restarted and is ready for operations.
   On the Software tab, the Status column of the Controller row automatically changes from Stopped to Running.
