You can create a custom characterization standard for industry-standard artwork or the default color bar artwork.

Note: The custom characterization standard is available only for the artwork for which you created it.

  1. In Proofer Administrator, click the Proofer icon, and click the Color Bars tab.
  2. Click New.
  3. In the New Color Bar dialog box, set the following options:
    1. In the Name box, type a name for the color bar.
    2. In the Spectrophotometer list, select the spectrophotometer and filter that you will use to measure the color bar.
    3. In the Artwork list, select one of the artworks that are provided for industry standards, such as SWOP, or select the Default Color Bar.
  4. Click Next.
  5. On the Color Targets tab, click the Triangle icon, and complete the options to define your standard.
  6. Create a name for the custom characterization standard.
    1. Click + / - and in the Characterizations Standards dialog box, click Add.
    2. In the Name box, type a name for the custom standard, and click OK.
    3. In the confirmation dialog box, click OK.
      The custom characterization standard is saved.
    4. Close the Characterizations Standards dialog box.
      The Characterization Standard list displays the name of custom characterization standard that you just created. 
      All changes made on the Color Targets tab after you create the name are saved with the color bar and not with the name. If you want to save the changes, add a new name, and delete the old name.
  7. To save the color bar, click Save.
