The Controller Viewer window lets you view the queues of all proofers connected to Proofer Controller. You can:

  • Submit files to the selected hot folder
  • View the status and state of files, pages, proofs, and copies in a queue
  • View the progress of and print detailed information about a file, page, proof, or copy
  • View and print reports related to Proofer Controller
  • View and print historical events related to Proofer Controller, or for a file, page, proof, sheet, or copy
  • Delete items in a queue
  • Measure color bars on copies of a proof

Opening Controller Viewer for a selected controller

In Proofer Finder, double-click a Proofer Controller in the Controller column.

Opening Controller Viewer by IP address or logical name

If the client software and proofer are on different subnets, the proofer name may not appear in Proofer Finder. In this case, you can open Controller Viewer using the Proofer Controller's IP address or logical name.

Note: Depending on how your network is set up, you may have to open the window with its IP address.

  1. In Proofer Finder, from the Controller menu, select Open by name.
  2. In the Type the Name or IP Address of the Controller box, type the IP address or name of the Proofer Controller that you want to connect to.
  3. Click OK.
    Controller Viewer opens.

Controller Viewer Windows

The Controller Viewer Window contains several windows.

Queue

Opens the Queue window.

In the Controller Viewer, the Queue window lists all files sent to each proofer connected to a Proofer Controller and displays the status and progress of each file.

Reports

Opens the Reports window.

The Reports window in the Controller Viewer contains reports related to that Proofer Controller.

Events

Opens the Events window.

The Events window in the Controller Viewer contains events related only to that Proofer Controller.

Help

Opens the Help window.

Controller Viewer Hot Folder

Displays a list of the available hot folders and their statuses. A green circle indicates the hot folder has a ready status, and a red circle indicates a hot folder has an error status.

To start processing the files with the selected hot folder, select a hot folder with a status of ready, and drop files onto the Controller Viewer.

 Indicates the selected hot folder is ready to accept files.

 Indicates no hot folder is selected, or the selected hot folder is in error and cannot process files.

Getting more information in Controller Viewer

You can get detailed information about the selected file, page, or proof in Controller Viewer.

  1. In Controller Viewer, click the Queue button.
  2. Click  (PC) or  (Apple Macintosh) to display the pages, proofs, sheets, and proof copies for a file.
  3. Select a file, page, proof, sheet, or a proof copy.
  4. From the Items menu, select Information.
    The File Information dialog box appears showing details of the selected item.
