Symptom
The Proofer prints a large X on certain proofs.
Cause
The process settings attached to the hot folder or virtual printer have the Fail on Missing Fonts option selected. This is a known limitation with the current version of the Proofer Client application.
Solution
Solution 1:
- In the creative application that created the page, embed the fonts.
- Resubmit the proof.
Solution 2:
- Determine which hot folder or virtual printer the original input files were submitted to.
- Open the hot folder or virtual printer for editing.
- On the Input Filestab, clear the Fail on Missing Fonts
- In the Substitution Fontlist, choose a font to substitute for a missing font.
- Resubmit the proof.
