Note: Turn off Windows Defender real-time protection scanning before the installation. You can turn Windows Defender real-time protection back on after installation.

Procedure:

  1. Log on using a Windows administrator account.
  2. Copy all the installation files to the Kodak_Service folder on the C or D drive.
  3. Right click on the Kodak Proofing Software x.x.x.x.exe file (The EXE file name extension might be hidden, depending on the default Windows setting), select Properties to ensure that the file is Unblock(ed) in the General section.
  4. Run the KPS Client Administrator and verify that all components of the existing KPS installation are functioning/running normally, and all proofers are connected.  If any of the proofers are not connected, they must be disabled before upgrading.
    1. To disable a proofer, select the proofer name in the KPS Client Administrator, and click the "Stop" button.  Then click on the "proofers" tab and select the proofer and click the "Disable" button.
  5. Double-click Kodak Proofing Software x.x.x.x.exe
  6. If a message asks whether to allow the program to make changes, click Yes.

  7. Follow the on-screen instructions as they appear.

    1. If necessary, edit the default path to ensure the software is installed in folder: D:\Program Files\Kodak, or C:\Kodak
    2. If prompted to install X-Rite, reply Yes.
  8. Continue following the on-screen instructions until finished.

  9. When the installer indicates that it is finished, ensure that Yes, restart my system is selected, and click Done to immediately restart the computer.
