The Approval or Matchprint Inkjet proofing solution purchased determines the type of workstation that will run the server component of Kodak Proofing Software. The use of client workstations is optional.

Brief descriptions follow—see also the applicable specifications.

  • Matchprint Inkjet proofer controller—For systems purchased directly from Kodak, the currently-shipping workstation is a business-class Dell OptiPlex (Windows 10), configured for reliability, high performance, and efficient use of disk space.
Terminology note: Also known as KPS controller, proofer controller, or server.
  • (If applicable) KPS workstation for Approval systems—For scenarios in which Kodak Proofing Software and Approval host software are installed on separate computers, standalone KPS runs on a business-class Dell OptiPlex workstation that provides the minimum requirements.
Terminology note: Also known as isolation workstation or KPS controller .
  • Client workstations, as needed—Customers are responsible for providing the client workstations. A proofer client workstation can be used to submit files and access the Controller software for one or more Matchprint Inkjet and/or Approval proofers. (Other computers in the network can also be used for basic file submission via exposed hot folders.)
