Requirements: For the project or library in which the master element is stored, you must have a role that includes the Arrange/Modify user right.

When you finish working with a revision of an alias and upload it to the project containing the alias, it becomes the top level revision of the alias. You may want to copy this revision to the master element pointed to by the alias. You might want to do this if, for example, the revision has been approved and you want to store it in a library for future reuse.

  1. Select the alias, and select Alias > Copy Back To Master.
  2. Indicate whether you want to delete the revision of the alias after it is copied to the master element:
    • Select Delete if you want to copy the latest revision of the alias to the master element and to update the alias to reference the revised master element. Other revisions of the alias are deleted, and other aliases that point to the master element are updated.
    • Select Preserve if you want to copy the latest revision of the alias to the master element and to retain all other revisions of the alias. Other aliases that point to the master element are updated.
