If in an output process template dialog box, Calibration & Screening section, Screening Mode box, you select Use document's screening, if present, the following limitations apply:

  • Possible screen angles are 0, 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, 105, 120, 135, 150, 165. Screen angles you specify from the desktop application are rounded to the nearest applicable screen angle.
  • For any object on a page, unless you're mixing AM and FM screens, set the screens for all separations to the same frequency. In other words, you can have the bumper of the car in an ad screened at 175 lpi and the hood screened at 133 lpi, but you shouldn't have the bumper's cyan separation screened at 175 lpi and its magenta separation screened at 133 lpi. Setting the screens for all separations to the same frequency is easy to do, as many applications support a "screen all separations at same frequency" feature. Examples of screening that will not work when you select Use document's screening, if present: RT Classic and RT Y45° K fine, where the angles are not one of the prescribed sets or the rulings of the CMYK separations are not similar to one another.
  • There are no standards for dot shape names-Ellipse in one application might have a different orientation or shape than Ellipse in another application. When you select Use document's screening, if present, Prinergy Evo software respects the PostScript spot function included with the screen specification.
