Use PDF Preflight software to evaluate a PDF file and detect problems that may affect processing in a publishing or prepress workflow. PDF Preflight profiles compare the PDF file to a set of criteria that you establish.

Kodak Prinergy Evo software provides you with two preflight options: Standard and Advanced. The Standard setting activates the standard preflight options that are located in the PDF Preflight section of the Refine to PDF process template. The Advanced setting uses the settings that you set up in PDF Preflight. To use the Advanced PDF Preflight in Prinergy Evo software:

  1. Configure PDF Preflight settings in the Preflight Profile Editor.
  2. Configure PDF Preflight settings in the refine to PDF process template.
    • Once you have defined your PDF Preflight settings, set up the PDF Preflight section of the refine to PDF process template. In the PDF Preflight section of the process template, click Advanced.
    • To generate a PDF Preflight report, click Create Report on Error or Always Create Report in the PDF Preflight section. The location of the report is based on the settings of the File Delivery section of the refine to PDF process template. Use Microsoft Windows Explorer or the Finder to locate your report. If you open the report, you can use the Kodak PDF Preflight Locator, a plug-in that helps detect problems in a PDF file.
