Match Acrobat Rendering

Select this check box if you want the Adobe PDF Print Engine RIP to generate output that matches Acrobat's onscreen rendering. Clear this check box for legacy rendering from Evo versions prior to Evo 10.0.

When the Match Acrobat Rendering check box is selected, the APPE Rips output of strokes will render as fills (matching Acrobat). Having this setting selected may resolve cases where miters do not match Acrobat. When the check box is cleared, thin lines may render closer to CPSI or legacy APPE output.

When transparency is on a PDF page strokes may still render as fills regardless of the Match Acrobat Rendering check box being cleared. To force strokes that are not part of a transparency stack to remain as strokes, select the new Evo 10.0 Preserve non-transparent Strokes check box.

Preserve non-transparent Strokes

Select this checkbox to avoid strokes converting to fills when transparency is on the page. When this check box is selected, the Match Acrobat Rendering check box is cleared and unavailable. The default value of this setting is cleared (OFF) to match legacy behavior and increase predictably.

Limitation: If a stroke line is part of a transparency stack it will always convert to a fill (regardless of this setting). In turn if you have two lines of the exact thickness where one is part of a transparent stack and the other is not and you select the Preserve non-transparent Strokes check box, the lines could have slightly different thickness on output.

Legacy Pattern Overprint behavior

Turning this option OFF will use a patterns parent graphic state. Having the setting off is more inline with the PDF 1.6 specification. If problems are observed with Patterns or Smooth Shades overprinting, it could be useful to set this to OFF.
