How Preps resolves signatures from stripping data

Preps looks for JDF data and attempts to resolve a signature using a specific sequence, depending on permissions that are set in the Preps profile.

1. Preps tries to find a direct template reference in the stripping parameters.
   If the JDF stripping parameters include a reference to an existing template file, Preps ignores the profile settings and uses that template. The template must be stored in the \AraxiPreps\Templates folder, and the Preps profile must use this path location.
2. If no template is referenced and if the profile permits auto signature matching (ASM), Preps tries to find a suitable existing template signature.
   Preps examines the JDF stripping parameters that correspond to the current profile's criteria and tries to match their values to a signature in an existing Preps template. If unsuccessful, and if the profile is set to permit matching only, Preps creates an unresolved signature placeholder, which the Prinergy Workshop operator must manually resolve.
3. If no matching template signature exists and if the profile permits auto signature creation (ASC), Preps creates a new signature.
   Preps examines the JDF stripping parameters that correspond to the current profile's criteria, and applies matching values to a new template signature that it autocreates and stores in an AutoGen subfolder in the Preps Templates folder.
