Business Link and Prinergy both support data and message queuing and continuous retries, so that no data is lost if either server becomes unavailable (for example, due to server maintenance or a network problem). End-to-end data protection can be provided if the MIS also supports message queuing and retries, and if Send JDF signals in reliable mode is enabled on the Configuration tab.
While either the Business Link or MIS server is unavailable, prepress production can safely continue in Prinergy, and any queued messages are forwarded as soon as the system becomes available again. Similarly, if Prinergy becomes unavailable, Business Link will queue any messages that it receives from the MIS, and forward them when Prinergy is available again. If either Prinergy or Business Link are unavailable, the MIS can safely continue to create jobs and send messages.
