All the software installed on the Controller are listed in the Status pane at the bottom left of the dialog box. Your software components might be different depending on what you have installed on the Controller.

Controller | This software controls the proofer hardware and the client software such as the Proofer Finder, Proofer Viewer, and Proofer Administrator. |
Report Engine | This generates the reports you select in the Reports window. Stopping the Report Engine stops all data collection and reporting functions. |
Proofer (name) | Displays all the Proofers that are installed and connected to the Controller. You can stop and restart each proofer individually. You must stop a proofer before you can disable or delete it. |
Open Connectivity Kit | Stopping the Open Connectivity Kit stops the RIP. This means you won’t be able to submit jobs via hot folders or virtual printers, and the Controller stops processing jobs already submitted using these input mechanisms. |
VNC Server | When running, the VNC Server enables you to control the Controller remotely from another computer. This is typically used by service personnel for troubleshooting purposes. During normal operation, this service should be stopped. |
