Identify a Windows server as a secondary server in Prinergy Administrator.

  1. From the Tools menu, select Configure System.
  2. In the Configuration Options dialog box, click the Servers tab.
  3. Next to the Secondary Servers box, click Add Server.
  4. Where prompted, type the name of the server that you want to add.
  5. In the Logon As box, type a user name and password for an account that has administrative privileges, for example, the Araxi account.
  6. If you have two primary servers and only one tertiary server, select Job Validation options. A job is validated when it is created or when it is moved to another server. Job validation is useful when you have two primary servers and only one tertiary server.
Important: You must add one or more servers to the Other Primary Servers using the same Job Home Servers box, otherwise the job validation options have no effect.
    1. Beside the Other Primary Servers using the same Job Home Servers box, click Add Server.
    2. When prompted, type the name of the server that you want to add.
    • Select Allow jobs with same name on different Primary servers and shares to allow jobs with identical names to exist on different primary servers.
    • Select Unique job names on all Primary servers using the same Job Home servers to enforce unique job names on all primary servers using the same Job Home servers, including any new primary servers you configure in future.
    • Select Allow jobs to be created/renamed when other Primaries cannot be contacted to check for duplicates to allow job creation if one or more primary servers are not available. If you do not select this option, you cannot create jobs if a primary server is unavailable.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Stop and restart the Prinergy system.
