Sheets can use 1-up layouts or layouts that allow more than one proof.

Sheet layouts that allow more than one proof per sheet are held in the Proofer queue until the layout is full. When the layout is full, the sheet closes and is available for proofing. If you want to proof a sheet before it is full, you need to close the sheet to prevent additional proofs from being added.

Matchprint Inkjet proofers are landscape devices. When facing the proofer, the top of the media (and therefore the top of the layout) is the leading edge of the sheet as it emerges from the proofer.

A layout specifies information about the following areas of a sheet:

A—Top

B—Left

C—Right

D—Bottom

E—Origin (0,0) or image start point

F—Cell; contains proof and can contain caption if selected in the layout

G—Vertical gutter; space between cells in the across direction

H—Horizontal gutter; space between cells in the down direction

J—Margin
