Hot folders contain file-handling instructions and a link to a template that specifies the file-processing instructions. When a file is placed in a hot folder, the file is automatically processed according to the hot folder settings. You can access the hot folders from any workstation on the same network. If you drop a folder of TIFF files into a hot folder, the software searches the dropped folder (including any subfolders) for files, adds the files the hot folder directory, and then deletes the dropped folder.
