- On the Properties Editor toolbar, click the Trap Page button.
- Select the Inks dialog box.
Locate the dark blue color in the drawing. What are its properties?
Dark blue is set to normal, its neutral density is 1.14, and it appears before the gold color in the print order.

Gold is set to opaque, its neutral density is 0.44, and it is the last color in the print order. - Select Normal for the gold ink type, clear the Treat as Black check box, and click Trap page.
Click the Select trap button, and click the edge of the dark blue type to see the trap between gold and blue in the Properties Editor. What is the trap direction?
The dark blue defines the shape and the gold background is choked under the blue. - Click Trap page.
- Select the Inks dialog box.
- Select Opaque for the gold ink type, and click Trap page.
Click Select trap, and click the edge of the dark blue type to see the trap between gold and blue in the Properties Editor. What is the trap direction?
The gold defines the shape and the blue text spreads into the gold background. - (Optional step) Experiment with ink opacity and print order. Remember that changing an ink to opaque and then trapping causes the Treat as Black check box in the Inks parameters to be automatically selected.
