An imposition plan provides layout or signature information for proof, film, or plate output. Use imposition software such as Preps to assign pages to the template layout (that is, add pages to the run list), and create a populated portable job ticket (PJTF) or as a job definition format (JDF). In other words, create an imposition plan that contains layout information with links to the page content.
In Prinergy Evo, create distilled PDF pages and assign the Prinergy Evo PDF pages to an imposition plan in qualified imposition software, such as Preps.
Output a PJTF or JDF file and submit it to Prinergy Evo. A PJTF or JDF file is created when real files (PDF pages) are included in the imposition software and the generated PJTF or JDF file includes a path to the run list files (PDF pages) on the Prinergy Evo server computer.
You can create an imposition layout with separated or composite mixed files (that is, PDF and PostScript) in Preps. You save to either a PJTF or JDF file and receive two files—the PJTF or JDF file and a marks PostScript file—which you then must refine to PDF before submitting both files for processing.
Important: The PJTF or JDF file and its corresponding Marks.pdf file must be stored in the same location. Otherwise, when you submit the files you will receive an error message. The PDF pages must be in a folder on a shared network volume on your Prinergy Evo server computer.
In Preps, when you create a PDF-to-PDF layout template, you must create an imposition layout with composite PDF files only. You save the imposition plan to a single PJTF file with the marks embedded, which you then submit for processing.
