To print directly from your UNIX software to Prinergy Evo software, it is recommended that you create a shared AdobePS printer on your Windows Evo server that links to a Prinergy Evo virtual printer, and then connect to the shared Windows print queue from the UNIX workstation.

  1.   In the Prinergy Evo Client software, create an LPR virtual printer.
  2.  Create an LPR port on the Prinergy Evo Server software.
  3.  If you do not have an AdobePS print driver, download the install software from the Downloads page at http://www.adobe.com.
  4.  Double-click the AdobePS installation software file. You need to run the AdobePS installer each time you want to create an AdobePS printer.
  5.  Complete the AdobePS installation wizard, clicking Next to move to the next wizard dialog box.
    1.  In the Printer Connection Type dialog box, select the It is connected to your network (Network Printer) option.
    2.  In the Network Path dialog box, click Browse.
    3.  In the Browse for a Network Printer dialog box, browse for and select the LPR IP virtual printers you created in Prinergy Evo Client software. Click Next.
    4.  In the Browse for Printer dialog box, browse for and select Prinergy Refiner PPD. Default location: <windows_directory>:\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3.
    5.  Complete the remaining wizard dialog boxes as required.
    6.  Click Install to install the Prinergy Refiner PPD Adobe PS printer.
    7.  Open the Printers and Faxes window from the Settings section of your Start Menu.
    8.  Select the new printer you created and get properties for it using File > Properties.
    9.  Select the Sharing tab and configure the printer to be shared.
  6.  From your UNIX workstation, connect to the new shared printer.

The LPR IP virtual printer sends the input file to Prinergy Evo software where it is processed according to the instructions in the attached process template.
