It is also possible (and often preferable, for throughput predictability and troubleshooting purposes) to configure a TIFF connection, rather than a GDAPI direct connection.

  1. Configure TIFF Downloader hot folders in your device control software (Print Console, Xpose, Xpo). Consult the online help of your device control software for specific instructions.
  2. Convert your direct-to-device JTP licenses to direct-to-file licenses.
    1. Do this by contacting the First Call Team of the Response Center and having them change the license for you at no cost. Alternately, any Kodak support representative (for example, Field Applications) will be able to help you.
    2. Enter your new license in Prinergy Administrator.
  3. Convert your direct-to-device JTP to direct-to-file JTPs.
    1. In Prinergy Administrator, select your direct-to-device JTP and make note of its properties.
    2. Delete the JTP.
    3. Create a new direct-to-disk Proof 512 JTP with the same properties as the direct-to-device JTP.
    4. Repeat for all direct-to-device JTPs that you want to convert.
  4. Convert your output process templates to render with the new direct-to-disk JTPs to the hot folder locations, rather than to the specific GDAPI JTP.
    1. Open the plate output process templates you have previously configured.
    2. Make a note of the various settings, such as output dimensions and shifts in the Layout section, (screening, calibration, etc).
    3. In the Output to list, change the GDAPI-enabled JTP to the new direct-to-file JTP that you configured.
    4. If the previously-entered values, such as output dimensions/shifts (screening, calibration, etc.) were lost, re-enter these in the Layout section, according to the notes you made in step 4b.
    5. Specify a compression scheme under File Format. LZW is a good general purpose compression.
    6. In the Device section, enter the device control's hot folder as the device path.
    7. Save the process template.
    8. Output a test imposition with the new process template to verify operation and position accuracy.
    9. Repeat for all plating process templates.
