The Press Availability dashboard provides information about the percentage of time the press (or presses as an aggregate) spend in various engine states – basically, how long is the press spending actually printing, how long waiting for jobs, and so on. This time is taken as a percentage of the time in which the press is spent in an “on” state. By looking at how often the press spends printing vs. waiting for jobs, it is possible for the press owner to make more informed choices about load-balancing jobs among presses, or to make other optimizations to the job workflow feeding each individual press.
In all cases, it is the selection of specific presses which controls where the information comes from. By either clicking on “Select all” or by clearing all the check boxes in the Press selection filter, all presses available will be chosen. One or more specific presses may be selected as well.
Hovering the mouse over the Elapsed Time Percentage by Month and State graph will pop up a tool-tip giving a more detailed set of numbers for the engine state.
