For more information about the following general steps, see the applicable documentation for proofer direct or open connectivity and for your profile-creation software.
- If the Certified Process will use a custom media configuration that you created, also create a profile for color-managing the color bar and jobs:
- Use a profile-creation tool such as ColorFlow software to print and measure a proofer color characterization chart, and export the resulting
.icc
file. - In Proofer Administrator, import and sign this ICC profile for the Proofer category.

- Ensure the ICC profile and and media configuration are enabled and available for selection in the applicable proofing workflow software.
- If using direct connectivity, export the signed ICC profile from Proofer Administrator and copy it to the workflow server. (All enabled media configurations are automatically available for selection in the Prinergy workflow software.)
- If using an Open Connectivity kit hot folder, all enabled ICC profiles and media configurations are automatically available for selection.
- If you need to use a custom source profile to set the color bar targets, perform the following tasks before proceeding:
- Use a profile-creation tool such as the spreadsheet provided by IDEAlliance to create and export the custom .
icc
file. - In Proofer Administrator, import and sign this ICC profile for the Simulation category.
When enabled, this profile is immediately available for selection in the Characterization Standard list for new color bars. - If using direct connectivity, the same profile must also be available in the workflow software. If necessary, export the signed ICC profile from Proofer Administrator and copy it to the workflow server.
