Kodak Veris has five built-in media layouts with Sheet Control Strips.
- Layouts with the sheet control strip allow for one control strip per sheet.
- All the layouts allow you to print a caption with each proof.
- Only one layout is enabled on a given Kodak Veris proofer. The default layout is 1up-SheetCS.
- The maximum proof size for each layout depends on whether you are printing captions and a control strip.
- If you are using the Kodak Certified process, proofs are printed with captions and the sheet is printed with a control strip. Otherwise, captions are optional. To print captions, choose the captions option in Prinergy Evo, or in your hot folder or virtual printer's Layout settings tab.
1up-SheetCS Layout
This layout does not reserve space for the control strip. The maximum proof size is 21 x 28.5 inches (53.34 x 72.39 cm) if you are proofing without a caption or control strip. Larger images are cropped. If you are printing a caption, the maximum proof size is 21 x 28 inches (53.34 x 71.12 cm) or 20.5 x 28.5 inches (52.07 x 72.39 cm), depending on whether the caption is below the proof, or on the right and rotated 90°.
If you are using this layout with the Kodak Certified process, the maximum proof size is 21 x 27 inches (53.34 x 68.58 cm), or 20.5 x 27.5 inches (52.07 x 69.85 cm), depending on whether the control strip caption is printed below the control strip or to the right of it.
2upGrid-SheetCS Layout
This layout reserves space for the control strip. The remaining image area is divided horizontally into two equal areas. The maximum proof size without a caption is 21 x 13.75 inches (53.34 x 34.925 cm). The maximum proof size with a caption is 21 x 13.25 inches (53.34 x 33.655 cm) or 20.5 x 13.75 inches (52.07 x 34.925 cm), depending on whether the caption is below or to the right of the proof.
If the proofs are smaller than the maximum size, the control strip is placed 0.5 inches (1.27 cm) below the bottom proof to reduce printing time.
4upGrid-SheetCS Layout
This layout reserves space for the control strip. The remaining image area is divided horizontally and vertically into four equal areas. The maximum size without a caption is 10.5 x 13.75 inches (26.67 x 34.925 cm). The maximum proof size with a caption is 10.5 x 13.25 inches (26.67 x 33.655 cm) or 10 x 13.75 inches (25.4 x 34.925 cm), depending on whether the caption is below or to the right of the proof.
If the proofs are smaller than the maximum size, the control strip is placed 0.5 inches (1.27 cm) below the larger of the two bottom proofs to reduce printing time.
Bestgrid-sheetcs layout
This layout places proofs according to size. It automatically selects the layout (1up-SheetCS, 2upGrid-SheetCS, or 4upGrid-SheetCS) that allows for the most proofs per sheet.
Scatter-sheetcs layout
This layout does not reserve space for the control strip. It positions proofs in rows, as close to each other as possible. Each row is placed as close as possible to the one above it. The proofs are arranged so that they can be separated using straight cuts across the sheet. As many proofs as possible are placed on the sheet.
If you are using this layout with the Kodak Certified process, the maximum proof size is 21 x 27 inches (53.34 x 68.58 cm), or 20.5 x 27.5 inches (52.07 x 69.85 cm), depending on whether the caption is printed below the proof or to the right of it.
