When you upgrade to Prinergy 8.0 or later, specify the correct file-sharing protocol for each job home and input volume. The following servers and volumes are listed in the Network File Shares Configuration dialog box:

  • All servers on the Configuration Options > Servers tab
  • All volumes on the Configuration Options > Input Volumes tab

Existing volumes use the same protocol that they used before the upgrade. If a volume was using SMB, it is now set to SMB with AppleDouble. If a volume was using AFP, it must be converted to SMB with named forks as AFP is no longer supported in Prinergy 8.0 or later. See Converting from AFP to SMB with named forks.
When you add a new secondary or tertiary server, you must specify its file-sharing protocol and whether that server can be used for job home.
Check each job home and input volume to ensure they are using the correct file-sharing protocol. Carefully plan and set up the file-sharing protocol so that you don't have to convert protocols later. If you converted from AFP to SMB when using Mac OS X versions prior to 10.7, you may be configured to use SMB with AppleDouble. If this is the case, consider converting volumes from SMB with AppleDouble to SMB with Named Forks for using SMB with more recent Mac OS X and macOS versions.
