The seam is a horizontal series of segments that goes across the layout around the data. The seam defines the shape of the media that will be cut on the cutting table. You can create the seam manually, semi-automatically, or automatically.

After you create the seam, the seam appears blue and the defined gap (defined in Preferences > Plate on Sleeve Planning > Minimum gap between line and data) appears in a light pink color. If a segment of the seam appears red:

  • The segment or gap overlaps the data
  • The segment is too small (Preferences > Plate on Sleeve Planning > Minimum segment length)

To find out why a segment is red, place the mouse over it and read the tooltip that appears.

To round the corners of the seam, select the Round corners check box. Round corners are less likely to break when the shape of the seam is cut.
