This task applies only to client workstations running an Open Connectivity Kit license on Windows 7 or later.
Requirements:
- Windows administrator privileges on the client workstation
Repeat this procedure whenever you install or upgrade the Proofer Client software on a Windows client workstation.
Notes:
- When you first start Proofer Client, a message may ask whether to allow javaaw.exe to access the network. Click Allow.
- You may also see the Program Compatibility Assistant dialog box. Click This program installed correctly to clear the error and keep it from appearing again.
- Use your preferred method to access the Windows Firewall> Advanced Settings.
- Select Inbound Rules> New Rule.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to set the following options for this rule:
- If prompted, confirm your actions. You may need to provide your administrator password.
- To add the Program to the rule, browse to and select Program Files\Kodak\Proofer Client <version>\OpenConnectivityClient.exe.
- Select Allow the connection.
- Select the Domain, Private, and Public network types.
- For the Name, type KPS Open Connectivity Kit.
The Color Database Editor will now be accessible.
Note: Also ensure that the antivirus software is configured with the same exception.
