Error creating spool file


Cause

The server was unable to create the spool file. This could be caused by:

  1. There could be a problem reading the source image files, because there is not enough disk space.  Or a hard disk failure.
  2. For double-sided proofing on Epson Stylus Pro x700, or x900 printers . This error appears for Epson Stylus Pro printers with old firmware.
  3. For double-sided proofing on Epson SC-P6000/7000/8000/9000 printers . This error appears if the custom setting is not set on the printer.
  4. Windows Spooler may have failed to start; or may be corrupted.
  5. Problem with the Epson ACCEL SDK software.  
  6. Inline Spectrophotometer could have failed or is having connection issues.

Solution

  1. Free up disk space:
    1.  Change the job retention policy in the software. See Scheduling when to empty the trash.
    2. Allow the software to use more disk space. See Allocating disk space
    3. Delete extra software or data on the controller.
  2. To upgrade the Printer Firmware:
    1. For an Epson Stylus Pro x700, x900, Use the EPSON LFP Remote Panel to upgrade the firmware to the latest version. The EPSON LFP Remote Panel is available on the Epson Web site (http://www.epson.com/). 
    2. For an Epson SC-P6000/7000/8000/9000 printer, download and install the latest firmware.
  3. Set the Firmware to enable double-sided printing (custom option 2).  See Setting the custom firmware option. 
  4. Check Inline Spectrophotometer by running an alignment.  Check all Spectrophotometer cables and connections
  5. If you need help, create an error report, and contact your service representative.
