  1. Select the refined PDF file. From the Refine menu, navigate to and select the 2ndRef-MapColors process template.
  2. In the Start Process dialog box, click Edit Process Template.
  3. Select the Trap function.
  4. In the Trap Settings section, change the trap size (height and width) from 0.25 pt to 3.0 pt.
Note: The setting of 3.0 is used only to illustrate the trap trimming feature. It is not a recommended trap width to use.
  5. In the Geometry section and its Trap Trimming box, select Automatic.
  6. Click OK.
  7. In the Start Process dialog box, click OK.
Note: Editing the process template from the Start Process dialog box is only a temporary selection. If you want to create a permanent process template that uses automatic trap trimming, you will have to create it using the Process Template Editor.
  8. Open the newly trapped file in Acrobat.
  9. Zoom-in onto the Hickory and naturally text. Note how the trap line is "held away" from the text to prevent the trap line from choking (or thinning) the look of the text. Quit Acrobat.
  10. In Job Manager, right-click the HickoryLogo.p1.pdf and select Delete 1-Up Artwork.
