Some Epson printer models with inline spectrophotometers can automatically print the label content directly on the proofs. Otherwise, a stand-alone Dymo Labelwriter printer is required.
- If using an inline spectrophotometer to print the labels, skip the first step. Inline spectrophotometers are available for the Epson Stylus Pro 4900, 7900, 7890, 9890, and 9900 printers.
- If the printer has an inline spectrophotometer that will not print labels, install a label printer at the proofer controller workstation.
- If using an offline spectrophotometer, install a label printer at the workstation closest to where you measure the color bars. This can be either a proofer client or controller workstation.
- If installing a label printer at a proofer client or controller workstation, perform the following actions:
- Follow the wizard instructions to install the printer driver from the disc that is provided with the Dymo Labelwriter.
- Connect the label printer’s power cord to the main power supply.
- Connect the label printer’s USB cable to the workstation where you will measure color bars.
- In Proofer Administrator, click the Proofer icon, and click the Settings tab.
- In the Label Type list, select the type of label printer you are using.
- In the LabelWriter connected to list, identify where you connected the label printer.
- Click Apply.
For more information, see the documentation provided with the label printer.
