Prinergy Screening Tower (PST) for Packaging is a subset of the Kodak Prinergy Workflow tailored specifically for use as a screening tower. Prinergy Screening Tower for Packaging accepts plate ready PDF files for Flexcel NX output.
The Prinergy Screening Tower is designed for accepting press-ready PDFs from a 3rd party workflow as input and creating 1-bit TIFFs for Flexcel NX platemaking.
The PST for Packaging server is accessed through the companion client software that can run on the workstations, on which you typically perform regular prepress file production (the Mac or Windows-based computer at your desk) - you do not need to physically walk over to the PST for Packaging server to initiate, monitor, and view the results of processing tasks.
The training guide shows you how to use a manual workflow and a Smart Hot Folder workflow for processing your plate ready PDFs. Within the manual workflow you have the opportunity to use Kodak’s DotShop plugin to Acrobat to apply different screening per object within the page. In the Smart Hot Folder workflow you have the opportunity to apply different screening per separation.
The PST for Packaging system is also licensed to support XMP tags from other workflow systems. These tags contain screening parameters per separation such as frequency, angle, and dot shape, which override the screen parameters set in the Calibration and Screening section of the output process templates.
