This activity introduces the set trim box feature available in Kodak Tools.
Before creating a step-and-repeat layout in Prinergy Workflow Packaging Automation Expansion Pack's integrated layout application, you must first define the size of your 1-up artwork. This helps the layout application to accurately position the artwork to the die line.
A die line is a line that guides the die in cutting. The die line is usually generated by a computer aided design (CAD) program. It assists in positioning the same or various 1-up artworks in a layout.
The layout application positions the 1-up artwork in the die line by matching the center of the 1-up artwork to the centers of the multi-up die line positions. Therefore, the trim box must be equal to the extremes of the die line in the 1-up artwork.
You set the trim box in the 1-up artwork PDF file using the Kodak Geometry Editor tool.
