The following are the mechanical specifications for the color bar artwork for the X-Rite Eye-One iSis and iSis XL spectrophotometers. For more information about mechanical specifications, see the documentation that is provided with your spectrophotometer.

Note: Before you can feed the chart of the color bar into the i1iSis spectrophotometer, you must cut the chart from the proof. Align the chart with the left side of the feed area on the iSis and iSis XL, and then feed the chart into the spectrophotometer.

The positioning bar requirements are:

The positioning bar must be vertically centered with the patches.
Next to the positioning bar must be some clear space without any mark or writing.
The relative density of the positioning bar must be at least 0.8 D.
The homogeneity of the positioning bar must be within 0.2 D.

The positioning mark requirements are:

Place position marks on both sides of each patch row.
Place the right positioning mark (right edge of the mark) within the following maximum distance from the left edge of the paper:
- Eye-One iSis Standard: 21.8 cm (8.58 in.)
- Eye-One iSis XL: 31.8 cm (12.5 in.)
Vertically center the positioning marks with the patches.
Surround the positioning marks with white space.
The relative density of the positioning marks must be at least 0.8 D.
The positioning marks and positioning bar must be the same color.
The positioning marks must be diamond shaped.
