Configure hot folders and virtual printers to add white flood to input files that lack content for white flood.

Requirements:

A special hot folder setup can add white flood to a proof made from input files that lack content for white flood. A recipe from a color library is used to define the color of white flood. Because no content for white flood exists in the input files, the name of the color in the library does not need to match any names in the input files. The print mode in the media configuration controls whether white flood prints first or last.

  1. In Proofer Viewer, select ConfigureHot Folders
  2. Click New.
  3. Perform the following actions:
    1. In the Layout list, select a layout with Color Confirmation enabled.
    2. In the Media Configuration list, select a media configuration with white ink enabled.
    3. In the Halftone Handling list, select None.
    4. Set the remaining options as desired, and click Next.
  4. On the ICC Settings tab, perform the following actions:
    1. In the Simulation Color Space area, click Advanced.
    2. Select a device link or a pair of ICC profiles, and click OK.
  5. On the White Settings tab, perform the following actions:

    1. Select the use press white flood check box.
    2. Click Browse and select the recipe that you want to use for white flood.

You can scroll through the list of colors, or type part of the color name in the box to view a subset of the color list. Click the x icon to clear the contents of the box.

If you cannot find a color, open the Color Database Editor, and add the desired color.

6. Set the remaining options as desired.

7. Click Save.
